From large shopping districts like Mashpee Commons to quaint downtown and historic-area retailers, art galleries and boutiques, there is plenty to keep  you busy for an afternoon or a whole day of retail therapy.

SHOPPING CENTERS & AREAS:

Main Streets of Cape Cod

Provincetown to Falmouth, Hyannis to Chatham, there are opportunities to stroll the many downtowns across Cape Cod and experience an intimate and local shopping experience. You will find locally made and inspired gifts and souvenirs, and often have a chance to meet the shop owner. Restaurants offer a nice respite, with many offering dining al fresco. If you happen to be in town during one of the many free concerts or arts & crafts shows offered on the town greens, your visit to the village will be complete.

Route 6A

For approximately 34 miles this scenic byway, also known as Old King’s Highway, roughly parallels the north shore of the Cape, passing through Sandwich, West Barnstable, Barnstable Village, Yarmouth Port, Dennis, Brewster and Orleans. You will find an abundance of gift stores, galleries and antique stores on this route in virtually every town. Complete your day with a visit to one of the many great museums and fine restaurants.

Route 28

Beginning in Bourne and stretching along the southern and outer shore, Route 28 winds its way down the Cape through Falmouth, Mashpee, Cotuit, Hyannis, Yarmouth, Dennis, Harwich, Chatham, and ends in Orleans. Route 28 has a wide array of stores, including gift shops and jewelry stores to souvenir-packed shops, clothing stores, galleries and antique stores.

The Outer Cape
